EXCITEMENT, EXCITEMENT, EXCITEMENT!!

This week my mom was here, and we had a lot of fun! We went to the Botanical Gardens, bowling, the beach, shopping, found my dress for my brother's wedding, went to Polynesian Cultural Center, went to see Pearl Harbor and then Monsters vs. Aliens. Whew!!!!! That took a mouth full! Amidst all of that we still found time to go to the track to exercise...my mother has real momentum! Here are some pictures from our whirlwind of a week...

This was at Pearl Harbor with Barbara (one of my mom's best friends)

Mmmmm, sand yummy!

Josh LOVED Bowling for the first time..

Grandma liked the sites on top of this mountain

We couldn't get Audrey out of the water...

Hailey catching waves on her new bodyboard she got for Christmas!

This was at Turtle Bay so they could see the Life size turtles!

This picture was from Pearl Harbor...another reminder of who we are and where we come from!
We are going to miss my mom when she leaves bright and early on Monday morning! I hope everyone had a good week, and enjoy the pictures!

Exciting things to come!

So this week I am getting ready for my mom and her best friend to come. I am very excited because my mom will help with whatever needs to be done ( plus she will be here for my b-day which is extra special too...on a side note I am over the age of thirty so I will be counting backwards from now on!) . We will be seeing some of the same sites we saw with Lesa and Jim, so I will be posting pictures of all the events next week! Hope everyone is doing well!
Oh! Also, in case you were all wondering, Josh and Hailey are doing great in swimming thus far. Their lips are blue when they get out of the water, but they love it, so I'm glad I signed them up!

Sickness never ends!

WELL -- four colds, three pink-eyes, two re-occurrences, and one sinusitis later; we are finally on the up and up!!!! Man, oh man! Why is it when my family gets sick it is not just your average cold and he/she will be fine, it is full blown everyone bare down the hatches, no school, play, anything for weeks it seems like! Point in fact my family has been sick since right before Valentines weekend!
Hailey and Josh start swim lessons tomorrow, and while everyone made a big deal about getting there "so early" because the line is ridiculous, we got in right away. Thinking I did something right for a change, quickly turned to "what have I gotten myself into NOW?" Because the pool is not heated, and for those of you that don't know what is going on this side of the country, we are having one of the coldest winters Hawaii has ever seen, so of course there was nobody signing up for swim lessons yet! Granted the weather IS doable (between 76-81 degrees) The pool will NOT be warm for my little munchkins, on top of the fact that it rains everyday, almost 4 times a day during this wet winter season. Needless to say, this will be another adventure in our book (as if we need anymore!!!)
On a better note, here is a picture of David and I since everyone seems to wonder why they don't see us and just the kids...our kids are so much cuter that's why!! (Notice the Special K in the background? Yeah that is as close as I got to eating it and losing a waist size, I bought it, and it is still sitting right there for me to look at and do nothing about!)

RAVIOLI ANYONE???

For those of you that say "It is necessary to let your child learn to feed themselves." This is for you....

This is when you "assist" in feeding, and this....

is when you let them do it for themselves!

Which would you prefer?

What a week it has been!!

So this past week was full of unexpected accidents and messes. You saw Josh's mishap, and that was just the beginning! The next day Audrey went down for a nap fully dressed..... pants, long sleeve shirt, socks, diaper, etc. When we went to go get her, she was totally naked! She took off everything, and threw her diaper on the floor, while leaving the big poop ball in the crib!! YUCK! David got to her first and came out of her room yelling for help, so when I got upstairs, she looked dazed and confused, but had a little smile on her face full of satisfaction! What a stinker! It was funny and yet irritating, because I had to wash the sheets yet again! I took a picture, but for obvious reasons I couldn't post it. If that wasn't enough, I went to deliver a pizza at an enlisted barracks here on post, and when I left my car it was fine, and I came back out of the building and it was crunched between two cars! I parallel parked, and apparently upset someone, or had the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time...either way that was the end to my week. Thankfully David is pretty suave with tools and he jimmy rigged it, so the front looks great but the back bumper is still pushed up a bit. At least this way we don't have to go through our insurance. (which here it is called no-fault insurance, which basically means you have to go through your own anyway, and pay the deductible.)
This week has got to be looking up, wouldn't you say?
