Memorial Day 2013

This is the first Memorial Day we have got to spend in California, not to mention with family in a long time!  It was really fun, and even somewhat relaxing!  We went to a City of Menifee Memorial service in the a.m. and then went swimming in the afternoon, and then had a BBQ in the evening. It brought tears to my eyes when they played the TAPS earlier in the day, totally brought back memories of my Dad's funeral.  They had each member of your family take a red rose and set it on the Plaque that was dedicated to all the branches of the military who are/ or have ever served our beautiful country.  It was a good day.

Mommy & Me Makeover

My twin girls had a "Mommy Makeover" day at their school the Friday before Mother's Day.  It was a really cute idea, with different stations, and food, and of course a photo op.  My girls invited me and Grandma to go, so each of them could have someone to "makeover".  Needless to say, we ended up doing their make-up instead of the other way around!  (Thankfully:))  They painted our finger nails, made paper hats to wear, and took some really cute photos.  Avery was big on the chocolate covered EVERYTHING, that she kept making rounds to the food table.  Overall it was a really cute idea, and A LOT of planning and work by the Kindergarten teachers!
