Carry On, Carry On, Carry On!

This month has been quite exciting with all the changes happening in the Sobeks' life.  My favorite is that I got a job at  Eisenhower Elementary.  I feel extremely blessed to have the opportunity to work with and be around children (i.e. my children) and have the same hours they do.  We also had quite a scare with a possible Tornado, which luckily didn't hit us, but we had wind damage as we were woken up to our trampoline coming through our family room window. it definitely has changed my opinion of wanting to live in the Midwest for sure!
Our twin girls are going to a friend's house for the six weeks left of school; (which is definitely a change for them for sure), and with the opportunity I have of starting at the school these last six weeks of the school year; I actually get to pick where I want to "aide" in the available classrooms next year.  We also had the greatest opportunity of all to attend the Kansas City open house with some great friends of ours from Hawaii.  They are stationed at Fort Leonardwood, MO, so they drove quite a distance to come and see this beautiful site, and have a spiritual experience to boot.

Easter Weekend

This past weekend we had the pleasure of hosting a really good friend of mine from way back in the day (he, he) Kristina and her two little girls. Her husband is deployed so what better reason to get out of the house right? She got here on Friday evening, and we were on the go until they left Monday morning. It was a whirlwind of fun. We went bowling and to the zoo on Saturday. My camera of course died halfway through the bowling excitement, so needless to say I did not get to capture all the fun moments. Later Saturday evening we died Easter eggs, and on Sunday we did TWO Easter egg hunts. One in the morning before church inside the house; and one later after dinner with confetti eggs outside of the house. One of MY favorite things I got to do was play with a little one again!!  Little Addison is only 6 months old, and such a cutie pie!  She has the chubbiest cheeks and melts your heart with her smile.  David got attached pretty quickly, (even though he would never admit it), and was sad to see her go.  We both miss that fun stage of holding and playing with a little one for sure.  My girls had a blast playing with Miss Gwen and are already asking when can they see her again:) Although I can't say for usre what the kids' favorite part of the weekend was, the trampoline was a definite contender:) Thank again Kristina for the good times, it was well overdue!
